Due to its continuing popularity, we are pleased to announce that we will bring back the team competition for 2026! Many runners run in social groups, while others run for a competitive corporate team or running club. We are encouraging all runners to join us under a
group or team name. Team uniforms and costumes are not required, but always enjoyed. 

We are offering a prize of $150.00 to the team with the most participants! The second and third largest teams will also be awarded with prizes of $100.00 and $50.00 respectively. 

This is not a timed-competition, so all teams have a chance to win. All you have to do is form a team and invite your friends and family! All teams must be declared in the registration state prior to race day.

Note: As a host of the race, the Gate City Striders as a club/team is not eligible to win the prize. However, members of GCS who form their own team are eligible!

You can sign up while registering. If you previously registered without declaring a team affiliation, you can be added to a team by logging into your account on runsignup.com and following the bullets below:​​

• Click the "profile" icon (little gray character) and see your name.  

• Click the rectangular "Upcoming Events" button and select "Hollis Fast 5K".  

• Look to the right side of the page and see the blue colored "Manage Registration" and click on it.  

• Next, click on the "Group/Team" header at the top of the page.

• Click on the rectangular button titled "Current Group/Team".  A dropdown menu will list the teams who have already registered.  

• Click on your team.  You are now officially a member of a team!

• If your team is not listed, click on the "Create New Group/Team" rectangular button and type in a team name. (Congratulations! You are now a team captain!)
